about ema

a mother of five,
living off the grid
in mallorca.

Ema is a Slovak-born mother of five. Her work moves between motherhood, the feminine, and the long quiet labour of becoming a sovereign woman. Together with her partner Tomas and their children they built an off the grid compound, situated on three hectares of mediterranean forest in Mallorca.

Through writing, mentorship, and her private community , Ema invites women into radical responsibility for what is happening inside, instead of looking for it outside. She is the subject of the upcoming Danish/Spanish feature documentary Becoming Ema.

Throughout her 10 year journey of motherhood Ema shaped her belief and created herself a tapestry of family experiences when women don't have to choose between themselves, creative work and a thriving family.

with proper balance of empathy, empowerment and guidance, we humbly accept what life is giving — so we can grow.

Ema, her partner Tomas and their children have been investigating what it's like to be a family and how to find balance between individual endeavors, team work and a place in a world.
